Amanda Paolicelli:

What's up, radiant icons!

2

:

And welcome back to Dare to be

Iconic, the podcast made for

3

:

icons daring to be themselves.

4

:

I'm your host, Amanda Paolicelli,

and I cannot believe I'm about

5

:

to say these words out loud.

6

:

Like it's, actually happening,

but at the end of this week,

7

:

I will be on my way to Spain.

8

:

It's my first international trip,

it's my first ever Grand Prix, and

9

:

it's my first trip without my parents.

10

:

So we're doing a lot of big

girl things in the year of 25.

11

:

But before I spill all the tea on my

pre Spain thoughts, I dare you guys to

12

:

connect with me on socials and if you

haven't already make sure to grab your

13

:

copy of Break Up With The Past, Fall

In Love With The Future, your five step

14

:

guide in turning your pain into power.

15

:

All that information can be

found in the show notes below.

16

:

So, I am going on my first

ever international trip.

17

:

I'm going to the Spanish Grand Prix.

18

:

Those three things I never thought

would actually like come true.

19

:

When I became a fan of the sport in

August of:

20

:

off, so I had a lot of time to binge

DTS, which for those who don't know,

21

:

it's Drive To Survive on Netflix.

22

:

If you haven't watched

it, definitely watch it.

23

:

I solely blame DTS and F1 TikTok

for the reason why I got into F1.

24

:

But, and also probably the combination

of getting laid off and having

25

:

literally nothing to do but contemplate

my whole entire life existence.

26

:

But, anywho, it's such a short amount

of time to think that, Oh my God,

27

:

like I'm actually doing all these

really big things that scare me.

28

:

And that goes back to stepping

outside of your comfort zone, which I

29

:

believe was a couple of episodes back.

30

:

I'll link it in the show notes below.

31

:

If you haven't listened to that one,

it's say goodbye to your comfort zone.

32

:

And it may be one of my favorite episodes

so far because it's so prevalent to

33

:

what is going on in my life right

, or at least in this year of:

34

:

2024 is the year of trust.

35

:

I think with trust comes stepping

outside of your comfort zone and

36

:

doing the things that scare you and

trusting yourself in the process.

37

:

Like, in order to do the things that

scare you, in order to step outside

38

:

of your comfort zone, deep down,

you have to trust yourself and trust

39

:

that everything is going to work

out the way it needs to, even if it

40

:

doesn't seem like it at the time.

41

:

And there have been so many things in this

planning stage leaning up to Spain that I

42

:

thought were going to be smooth sailing.

43

:

They have not been.

44

:

Okay?

45

:

I have been very, very, very stressed,

very stressed, and anxious, and

46

:

excited, and so many, so many emotions.

47

:

I had to deep down trust the

process and trust that everything

48

:

is happening for a reason.

49

:

And doing the things that scare

you and stepping outside of your

50

:

comfort zone are going to be very

uncomfortable at times, and they're

51

:

going to be very stressful, and they're

going to be very anxiety inducing.

52

:

But I think that's the whole

point of growing up and evolving

53

:

and trusting yourself, because

trust isn't an easy process.

54

:

So, When I think of my

journey to Spain, right?

55

:

When I think of the journey to the

Spanish Grand Prix, it all comes down to

56

:

trusting the path that I put in place for

myself to get to this moment right here.

57

:

And I'm not going to lie this whole path

to Spain has been a rollercoaster ride.

58

:

It has been the highest of

highs and the lowest of lows.

59

:

And the highest of highs have been some

of the most magical moments and the

60

:

most exciting moments of my career.

61

:

. And the lowest of lows have been

some of the most stressful and

62

:

anxiety inducing lows of my life.

63

:

In my mind, I thought it was always going

to be like this rainbow of happiness.

64

:

Everything was going

to be like, so perfect.

65

:

And that is just not true when

you are planning a trip of this

66

:

magnitude and it's all your first

like things are going to go wrong.

67

:

things are not going to go according

to plan and you're going to learn

68

:

a lot just in that pre preparation

period to get to your destination.

69

:

I think this also goes back to trusting

the journey and not being so focused on

70

:

the destination because the journey and

the figuring it out is the fun part.

71

:

And I know we talked about this

a little bit in like trying

72

:

to navigate your twenties.

73

:

And I think this applies

to the Spain trip.

74

:

I was so focused on getting to Spain

and making sure everything is right

75

:

to have X, Y, and Z line up perfectly.

76

:

And I wasn't enjoying the journey

as much like I let the lows really

77

:

affect me and overtake the excitement

Of this pre spain trip because for a

78

:

while like in May we were struggling.

79

:

I was not excited to go anymore.

80

:

I was like at this point, maybe I

just shouldn't go like everything just

81

:

wasn't Turning out how I expected it.

82

:

Like I, I guess I expected it to be

so like easy sailing, no stress, no

83

:

anxiety, like that is such a lie.

84

:

Like that is honestly a bold

faced lie that I don't know why.

85

:

When the hard shit hit me, it

hit me like a ton of bricks.

86

:

And it made me not be

excited for this trip.

87

:

And this trip should be something

that I should enjoy because

88

:

I worked so hard to get here.

89

:

Like all the behind the scenes stuff

that I can't talk about yet, but all

90

:

that behind the scenes work that I put

into it to make this trip be what it's

91

:

going to be like, like, that's exciting.

92

:

Like that figuring it

out part is exciting.

93

:

And I think I let the hard shit

overcloud the exciting stuff at times.

94

:

Maybe too much at times.

95

:

But how do I feel now before, this trip?

96

:

Well, I still think of myself as just

a 25 year old girl figuring it out and

97

:

honestly, doing something like this by

myself is really, truly testing me to my

98

:

limits of doing the shit that scares me.

99

:

Because, oh my god, I know I'm gonna

learn so much about myself, but this

100

:

leading up to it is really, really scary.

101

:

And I don't know if that feeling is going

to like Disappear once I like set foot

102

:

in Madrid because we're going to Madrid

first, but man, am I really really testing

103

:

out the doing the things that scare you

and stepping outside of your comfort zone.

104

:

I think one of the biggest takeaways

from this trip will be not having the

105

:

security blanket of having my parents

with me and I saw this tiktok the other

106

:

day of this girl saying that she doesn't

like to go on girls trips anymore because

107

:

she's so used to going on vacations

with her husband, and her husband,

108

:

like, when she's on these vacations,

like, he's the one who's in charge, he

109

:

does all the plans, he allows her to

really just relax and, like, turn her

110

:

brain off and she doesn't have to think.

111

:

And I kind of can relate that to

going on trips with my parents.

112

:

Like, I'm able to low key turn my brain

off and not have to think and not have

113

:

to worry about going to X, Y, and Z

because I have the security blanket

114

:

and the safety of my parents with me.

115

:

But in this aspect for this

trip, I won't have that.

116

:

I think it's something that I need

to do in order to learn more about

117

:

myself and more about my limits and my

boundaries and what I'm really capable of.

118

:

And I think that's what I'm most

excited about for this trip is the

119

:

independence that I will gain from it

on a different level than I have now.

120

:

I think once I do this trip I'm going to

prove to myself that I can handle it and

121

:

that I can do things of this magnitude

by myself because that was always a

122

:

thing that I was really really scared

of Especially coming out of the breakup.

123

:

I never did shit by myself when I was In

my prior relationship, like I was always

124

:

with him because I had to depend on him

to get me to X, Y, and Z because I didn't

125

:

know how to drive and I didn't have a car.

126

:

And once I got out of the relationship,

the first thing I did was learn how

127

:

to drive and have that independence.

128

:

And once I did that, I was able

to overcome that fear of driving,

129

:

step outside of my comfort zone,

and gain a newfound independence.

130

:

And prove to myself that I can do it.

131

:

And now this is just

another thing like driving.

132

:

I'm traveling abroad for the first

time, and I'm going to learn so

133

:

much about myself, just like I did

when I got my driver's license.

134

:

I'm going to learn so much about my

limits, my boundaries, who I am as a

135

:

person, and that I can prove to myself

that I can do the things that scare

136

:

me and that I am going to be okay.

137

:

I am more than capable in doing it.

138

:

And I think that's what

I'm most excited about.

139

:

I think the hyper independence that I'm

going to get from this trip and unlock

140

:

this Newer version of me is something

that I'm really looking forward too.

141

:

But how do I feel right now?

142

:

It all comes down to this feeling of

I know the spain trip will change my

143

:

life I don't know how I don't know when

in the trip this moment will be but

144

:

I just have this overwhelming feeling

that this trip will be so monumental

145

:

for me and it will change my life.

146

:

I don't know on what type of trajectory

it will change my life but like you know

147

:

that feeling right when you know you're

about to do something that is really

148

:

really scary and you're taking that risk

but you know deep down it's going to pay

149

:

off and that it will change your life.

150

:

I've had that feeling a

couple of times in my life.

151

:

Definitely more recent I've had

them come up a couple of times,

152

:

but for this trip in particular.

153

:

I don't know how and I don't

know when but I do know that

154

:

this trip will change my life.

155

:

And I have a feeling it's going to be

about me learning so much more about

156

:

myself and it's going to unlock this whole

new perspective and outlook on life and

157

:

how I view myself and I'm really excited

for that because right now, at this very

158

:

moment while I'm recording it, I feel

like I know every bit of Amanda, but by

159

:

going on this trip it's going to unlock

all these new lessons and thoughts and

160

:

Emotions that have never been unleashed.

161

:

It's like a little, like, it's

like Pandora's box, right?

162

:

When you unlock it, like

shit comes out of it.

163

:

Like, that's how I feel.

164

:

Like, I feel like this is just another,

like, I guess, like box within me

165

:

that emotions are going to come out.

166

:

Perspectives are going to come

out and I'm going to learn so much

167

:

about life and about myself and

168

:

I just know that this trip will change

my life, and I'm so excited to bring

169

:

you guys along on the journey with me.

170

:

I just feel like it's this really special

moment in my life where so many things

171

:

have come together to line up at the

right exact time, at the right exact

172

:

moment, for this opportunity to happen and

flourish the way that it has and that it

173

:

will, and I'm just really excited for it.

174

:

I'm really anxious, I'm really

scared, and I'm really nervous.

175

:

But I'm really looking forward to what

I'm going to learn about myself, and about

176

:

life, and about a different culture, and

I'm just really excited for my future.

177

:

And I know this episode was a little bit

of everywhere, but I think the biggest

178

:

thing to come out of it is you can do

whatever you set your mind to, and even

179

:

when it's really scary, do it anyway.

180

:

Because it's within the fear that

we learn the most about ourselves.

181

:

It's within stepping outside of our

comfort zone that we know our limits and

182

:

that we know our boundaries and that we

test them and we challenge ourselves.

183

:

And I think that's exactly

what I'm doing on this trip.

184

:

And I'm just really excited to

see what's going to come of it.

185

:

And that is your tea time sesh

for today radiant icons I hope

186

:

you enjoyed today's episode.

187

:

I know it was a little bit everywhere

I know that but you know what?

188

:

That's how my brain is

before this trip to Spain.

189

:

I am feeling every emotion under the

Sun that I didn't even know was humanly

190

:

possible and I used to be an actress,

So, you know that's saying something.

191

:

I am so excited to share this journey

with you guys, this whole entire trip,

192

:

because I truly feel like I'm going to

learn so much about myself, about life,

193

:

and I know it's going to change my life.

194

:

I really, truly, genuinely do.

195
