2

:

Be Iconic, the podcast made for

icons daring to be themselves.

3

:

I'm your host Amanda Paolicelli and

I am so excited you're here today

4

:

but before we get into it I dare

you to go to dare to be iconic.

5

:

com to join our radiant icon community

and check out my amazon storefront

6

:

linked in the show notes to check

out my journal, "Break Up With The

7

:

Past Fall in Love With The Future."

8

:

Now, I will die on the hill that

this is the year of the icon.

9

:

So how can you be an icon?

10

:

And what does the word iconic even mean?

11

:

Are you ready for your Tea

Time sesh, Radiant Icons?

12

:

Now, let's get into the tea.

13

:

Let's start off with what

the word iconic means.

14

:

Now, in this context for

Dare to be Iconic, right?

15

:

It's all about your own unique version of

iconic and daring to be yourself and being

16

:

comfortable and confident in your skin.

17

:

So when I say the word iconic, I

genuinely mean living authentically

18

:

and true to you and stumbling boldly.

19

:

So how can you be an icon?

20

:

You need to be okay with

being imperfectly iconic.

21

:

So embracing your imperfections.

22

:

And I know we all don't like that.

23

:

Like literally owning up what scares

us and what we aren't like perfect in

24

:

is one of the most terrifying things

anyone can do, but you know what?

25

:

Dare to be iconic all started for me to

share my story in hopes that it resonates

26

:

with one of you radiant icons so that you

can dare to be iconic in your daily lives.

27

:

So let's talk about how I struggle

with imperfection and how it really

28

:

inspired this whole dare to be iconic

mindset and made me the icon I am today.

29

:

My whole life, I've been a perfectionist.

30

:

I have struggled with the concept

of being perfect and having to

31

:

adhere to these standards ever

since I was like little baby Amanda.

32

:

And a recent example would be when I

was filming my first podcast episode.

33

:

So it was honestly early this week.

34

:

And I was just so hard on myself because

it wasn't coming out the way I wanted

35

:

it to, it wasn't coming out perfectly.

36

:

And I had this idea in my mind

of what it should be like.

37

:

It should be like all the other

self improvement podcasts out there.

38

:

It needs to be X, Y, and Z way.

39

:

A whole point of dare to be iconic, right?

40

:

Is to be iconic in my own unique way.

41

:

And my version of iconic isn't the

same as everyone else in the market.

42

:

And that is okay.

43

:

So the way I'm going to approach

this podcast is going to be

44

:

completely different than so and so.

45

:

But I need to be okay with that and

normalize that just because it isn't

46

:

the way that someone else is doing

it doesn't mean it's not Perfect

47

:

in quotation marks to me, so I just

need to embrace my imperfections.

48

:

I was really really down on myself.

49

:

After I had finished recording, I

was in such a depressing, messy mood.

50

:

And my friend Dani would be so happy

that I said that, so shout out Dani.

51

:

But I was just like, I should quit.

52

:

I'm a failure.

53

:

This is gonna suck.

54

:

No one's gonna listen to me.

55

:

And you know what?

56

:

If this isn't their cup

of tea, that's okay.

57

:

Because I'm being authentic to myself.

58

:

The way for me to be authentic to myself

is to just talk to the camera right here

59

:

in my bedroom on this mic like I'm talking

to one of my best friends because that

60

:

is the whole point of Dare to be Iconic,

is being authentic to me and that's how

61

:

I shine and thrive in my iconicness.

62

:

Let's talk about how to

embrace imperfection.

63

:

So how can you be imperfectly iconic?

64

:

This is a hard one for me specifically

because I suck at giving myself grace.

65

:

I suck at being kind to myself.

66

:

I don't like admitting when I failed.

67

:

I don't like to admit that I'm

imperfect, but we all are, you know?

68

:

So it shouldn't be something that

I'm ashamed of or embarrassed by,

69

:

but I always get in my head about it.

70

:

One way that we can be imperfectly

iconic and be the icons we are, is by

71

:

embracing our imperfections and by being

kinder to ourselves and giving ourselves

72

:

grace and accepting that we will fail.

73

:

And that's okay.

74

:

Think of imperfections

as a painting, okay?

75

:

So every unsuspected stroke or

splatter makes up this beautiful

76

:

messy canvas that is our lives.

77

:

Our lives shouldn't be perfect

because life isn't perfect.

78

:

And that's okay to embrace

those imperfections because

79

:

that's what makes us iconic.

80

:

That's what makes us unique and

beautiful and the icons that we are.

81

:

So how do we get over that

hurdle of being imperfect?

82

:

We have to own them and say them out loud.

83

:

So I'm going to own my

imperfections right now.

84

:

Now my therapist would

say, I'm a queen at this.

85

:

I love to create unnecessary

chaos for myself.

86

:

I love it.

87

:

And as many times as my therapist tells

me, stop creating chaos for yourself.

88

:

I will continue to create

unnecessary chaos in my life.

89

:

That's just always going to happen.

90

:

I will overthink certain situations

and play them multiple times in my head

91

:

because I just want them to be what?

92

:

Perfect.

93

:

Yes.

94

:

So I create this unnecessary

chaos in my life that I do

95

:

not need, but I do it anyway.

96

:

So I need to start giving myself

grace when I do it and start

97

:

recognizing those patterns.

98

:

And I am getting better at

it, but it is a struggle.

99

:

So that's an imperfection of mine.

100

:

Another one would be right after the

breakup , I carried this shame that

101

:

we talked about in episode one like

I was just letting this narrative

102

:

that my ex wrote of me dictate

and define my entire narrative.

103

:

And how I perceived myself and

how I moved and went about life.

104

:

I should have been kinder to myself

105

:

This was the first time I

was getting my heart broken.

106

:

That is going to hurt, and I'm not

always going to get it right, I

107

:

was in this transitional period,

and I wasn't giving myself the

108

:

grace and kindness that I deserved.

109

:

I needed to do that.

110

:

And another one that I can think of is

honestly right now with the podcast.

111

:

This is something that I have

dreamed of for two years now, and

112

:

it's finally coming to fruition.

113

:

And that is like the most exciting

thing I've ever done so far in my life.

114

:

That this dream is actually

coming true and I'm, I'm creating

115

:

and I'm making it happen.

116

:

But I'm not always going to get it right.

117

:

There is a learning curve with

anything new that you start, and

118

:

you're not always going to be perfect.

119

:

I'm a CEO for the first time

in my life of my own company.

120

:

I'm not always going to get it right.

121

:

And that is okay.

122

:

I have to accept that

sometimes I'm going to fail.

123

:

That sometimes, It's not going to

go the way that I want it to, but

124

:

it's happening the way it should.

125

:

So in turn of that, I need to

trust my path like I trust an Uber.

126

:

And I know it's a lot easier said than

because trust is my word for:

127

:

And we are, we are going through it

right now, y'all, but we can talk

128

:

about that later, but we need to

start trusting our path, and that's

129

:

within embracing the imperfections

and being imperfectly iconic.

130

:

That's how you be an icon.

131

:

You need to stumble boldly, live

authentically, and dare to be iconic.

132

:

Dare to be your own

unique version of iconic.

133

:

Honestly, just appreciate the beauty

in the unexpected moments, we have

134

:

to keep trusting this beautiful

painting that we're creating.

135

:

Even if the strokes and the splatters

don't make sense at that particular

136

:

moment, that is okay because

everything is happening for a reason.

137

:

So embrace it and trust the process.

138

:

Trust that path like it is an Uber.

139

:

I dare you to write out your

imperfections, cross them out, and

140

:

accompany the lesson that goes with it.

141

:

And for more check out my

journal, break up with the past,

142

:

fall in love with the future.

143

:

All right, radiant icon.

144

:

Now that we know how we can be an

icon next week, we're diving into

145

:

that day to be iconic mindset.

146

:

The mindset where you can create the

dream life that you've always wanted for

147

:

yourself, how you can step into your power

and how you can be the icon that you are.
