Amanda Paolicelli:

What's up radiant icons and welcome back to dare to

2

:

be iconic, the podcast made for

icons daring to be themselves.

3

:

I'm your host, Amanda

Paolicelli and you guys, it's.

4

:

It's been a while.

5

:

It's been a while since we've

done a solo tea time sesh,

6

:

but you know what that means.

7

:

That means the tea is piping

hot and it's ready to be spilt.

8

:

Yes.

9

:

Yes, indeed.

10

:

I have lots of tea from

my first solo trip.

11

:

That's right, everyone.

12

:

Your girl did it.

13

:

She Fought her fears of flying by

herself and she did it not because

14

:

she wanted to it's because she had to

for her day job, but Anyway, I did it.

15

:

I basically fought fear and I can do

the scary things now truly it was a

16

:

really amazing experience Having my

first solo trip and maybe it wasn't

17

:

because I I wanted to and it wasn't

because I was ready, I had to be ready

18

:

for it, but I'm so glad that I was

forced, basically, to fight my fears.

19

:

I never thought my little Florida booty

would be in the Midwest during the winter.

20

:

Um, but I was there.

21

:

And, you know, we

survived and we saw snow.

22

:

We actually had a lot of amazing first,

which is what this tea time sesh is all

23

:

about, which is experiencing all these

amazing once in a lifetime experiences

24

:

for the first time, like meeting my

coworkers for the first time in person,

25

:

because I work in a remote environment.

26

:

Yes.

27

:

I have a regular nine to five and

It's been fun, but I work in a

28

:

remote environment and I don't really

work with anyone besides my boss

29

:

because i'm An executive assistant

to the head of the organization.

30

:

And I don't really get to

interact with the team as much

31

:

as maybe other departments.

32

:

So it was really interesting still

being new because I'm very new hire

33

:

and being able to meet everyone after

a couple of months of being on the

34

:

team and kind of working by myself for

the majority of my time working there.

35

:

So it was fun and something

really rejuvenates the

36

:

soul about being in person.

37

:

And then on top of that, not only did I

get to meet all my coworkers for the first

38

:

time, I flew by myself for the first time.

39

:

I saw snow for the first time.

40

:

I was working an event at a

much higher attendee volume than

41

:

I have ever have experienced.

42

:

It was insane being able to work with

literally so many people, whether that's

43

:

exhibitors, sponsors, attendees, so on

and so forth, like the capacity of how

44

:

many people were at this conference.

45

:

And I was working behind the scenes of it

and seeing like all the work about, you

46

:

know, we've had since January to now in

November and being able to work in person

47

:

with everyone and figure out that groove

of working with your co workers for the

48

:

first time and then meeting all these

other new people and working at event at

49

:

this scale like there's a lot of firsts

going on you guys and you know what?

50

:

I'm here to spill the tea about all of it.

51

:

But with that being said That's a lot

of chaos, and that's a lot of busyness,

52

:

especially right before the holidays,

like, it's Thanksgiving here in America,

53

:

or it's just ended, actually, but while

we were prepping for the conference

54

:

and while the conference was happening,

it was the week before Thanksgiving.

55

:

Like, you guys, that's a lot.

56

:

And then we have December, which is

personally my favorite month of the year.

57

:

Because it's my birth month.

58

:

National Amanda Day is December 19th.

59

:

So you already know December

is going to be jam packed.

60

:

And we also have, like, my sister's

graduation, and we have Christmas, and

61

:

New Year's, like, December is crazy.

62

:

So it's like, all these amazing

firsts are happening in the midst of

63

:

chaos and hecticness and busyness.

64

:

So it's like, how do

you protect your energy?

65

:

How do you not burn out when all of

this amazing, crazy, thrilling stuff

66

:

is happening all at the same time?

67

:

Well, You guys are in for a treat,

Radiant Icons, because I am spilling

68

:

the tea on how you can protect

your energy, how you can avoid

69

:

burnout, and also enjoy everything

that's going on in this amazing,

70

:

crazy experience that we call life.

71

:

But before I spill all the tea, make

sure to connect with me on socials and

72

:

if you are looking for iconic gifts

for the holiday season, then look no

73

:

further than Dare to Be Iconic's best

selling products, New Year Iconic You,

74

:

the 2025 planner to living your most

iconic life, and break up with the past,

75

:

fall in love with the future, your five

step guide in turning your pain into

76

:

power, the self healing guided journal.

77

:

Those two products are available on

Amazon and ready to ship internationally.

78

:

And I hope you guys love it as

much as I do, like you guys.

79

:

I love me a planner, I love me a

journal, and I hope you love Dare

80

:

to Be Iconic's journal and planner.

81

:

But anywho, enough with the

chit chat, let's get to the tea.

82

:

Are you ready, Radiant Icons?

83

:

Because your tea time

sesh is starting now.

84

:

Now, I know you guys probably know this

about me by now, but if there is one

85

:

thing about me is that I will always,

always, always, always find a way

86

:

to pull lessons out of every type of

scenario or situation that happens to me.

87

:

And this solo trip was no different.

88

:

Shocker!

89

:

There was no difference in me being able

to pull lessons out of multiple situations

90

:

that happened to me on this trip.

91

:

And if you guys want Followed my

stories on my Instagram, you know

92

:

that there was a lot of tea and I

never spoke about what truly happened

93

:

because I was waiting for this episode.

94

:

I was waiting for this episode

specifically to talk about the

95

:

situations happening, but also

the lessons that I took from them.

96

:

And there is no better way to start

a tea time sesh than sharing the

97

:

lessons and the stories that built

the idea of this very episode.

98

:

So let's get into it, you guys.

99

:

Here are my five lessons

from my first solo work trip.

100

:

Let's get into it.

101

:

So I'm gonna start this a little

bit different than I usually do with

102

:

like my lesson recaps I'm gonna talk

about lessons one and two together

103

:

because they go together in the story.

104

:

Lesson one and two- One: No one has

the power to make you feel small.

105

:

Two: if someone does not like

you ,that's on them, and not you.

106

:

Now, it is no shocker to me that

I'm not everyone's cup of tea.

107

:

I know that.

108

:

I know that not everyone is gonna like me.

109

:

And I'm okay with that, because

I love who I am, and I will

110

:

not change who I am for anyone.

111

:

With that being said, in this particular

situation that happened, It was like a

112

:

ghost from my past Came back to haunt me.

113

:

In this particular instance, i'm

starting A new chapter of my life, right?

114

:

I'm with a new organization.

115

:

I'm not with my prior employer.

116

:

And I will never say anything

bad about my prior employer

117

:

because I learned a lot there.

118

:

However, I can now, being in a new work

environment and a new organization, see

119

:

that the work environment for my previous

employer was not the best for my mental

120

:

well being, or just, like, in general.

121

:

It was not.

122

:

I can say that.

123

:

And maybe at a later on, or maybe at a

date later on, maybe I talk more about

124

:

it, but it's still a sensitive subject to

me because a lot of stuff happened that.

125

:

When you're first starting

your professional development

126

:

journey, it's like your first

big girl job out of college.

127

:

You really don't know what's going on.

128

:

And you kind of are just like going

with the flow and you're learning on

129

:

the go and in that particular job I

was definitely learning as I went and

130

:

I'm so grateful for that but there

were definitely situations that that

131

:

happened or that I was put in that I

definitely shouldn't have dealt with that.

132

:

I definitely shouldn't have been

put through and I can now clearly

133

:

see that, and also at the end of

my employment, but you know what

134

:

that's a story for another time.

135

:

However going into that, I know that Not

everyone I work with, I know that not

136

:

everyone that comes across my content,

or maybe meets me in person Is going

137

:

to like me and that's okay with me but

we have to be able to work together in

138

:

a civil fashion, like we, we have to

be able to be professionals about it.

139

:

We have to be able to be adults.

140

:

And in this specific situation that

happened, I personally felt like my

141

:

past, something from My first job in

that very toxic environment was coming

142

:

back to slap me in the face it kind of

forces you to deal with all the emotions

143

:

that you've been, like, burying down

for so long, like, it's tricky, and

144

:

it's hard, and in that moment, I knew

that, one, I knew that, one, I was never

145

:

going to change that person's mind on

how they think of me, and two, That

146

:

person, no matter what their personal

feelings for me are and that I'm aware

147

:

of them, that person does not deserve

the right to make me feel inferior.

148

:

No one deserves to make you feel small.

149

:

And in that moment when everything

was happening, because I hadn't

150

:

dealt with it well, right?

151

:

I didn't deal with the trauma, right?

152

:

We're going back to trauma

and boundaries, everyone.

153

:

I didn't deal with the trauma that I

experienced in my previous job, like being

154

:

in a toxic, unhealthy work environment.

155

:

I didn't deal with that trauma.

156

:

I kind of just pushed it down and

like kept it like bottled inside.

157

:

The way I chose to react in the privacy of

my hotel room, was allowing someone else

158

:

to have so much control of my narrative.

159

:

And what is the one thing that I

have told myself since the beginning

160

:

of this Dare to be Iconic journey?

161

:

That no one, no matter who

the hell they are, will ever

162

:

have the power to define me.

163

:

Will ever have the

power to write my story.

164

:

And in that moment, I was

letting that person win.

165

:

I was letting them dictate my

emotions and my feelings and the way

166

:

that I was moving about my space.

167

:

And so when my boss told me,

no one deserves your tears,

168

:

that's when it clicked for me.

169

:

That's when that mindset switch happened.

170

:

And What I also learned is that I need

to deal with some shit I didn't deal

171

:

with, which I think is popping up a lot

more as we continue on in season two.

172

:

I realized there's a lot of little

boxes that I haven't uncovered yet

173

:

that I need to kind of deal with.

174

:

I didn't realize how much the

trauma that I endured in my prior

175

:

employment really affected me and

it took that moment to realize it.

176

:

Amanda from summer 2020, who started

that last job like she would have

177

:

never, ever, ever been able to have

that self awareness and mindset switch

178

:

in such a quick turnaround time.

179

:

Like she would have never

seen the positive in a really

180

:

cloudy, unfortunate situation.

181

:

And that growth is

something that I'm proud of.

182

:

And I think that's important to recognize,

but also know and hold myself accountable

183

:

that I do need to continue on working

on this specific instance, I need to.

184

:

I need to deal with it.

185

:

I feel like I say that every episode.

186

:

Like, I, I feel like I'm like,

I need to deal with this.

187

:

I need to deal with this.

188

:

Like, it's always a different

thing I need to deal with.

189

:

But you know what?

190

:

That's growth and

accountability, you guys.

191

:

I guess that's good, right?

192

:

We're having the hard conversations and

I'm coming to a lot of realizations.

193

:

And I hope you guys are as well.

194

:

But that's my lesson one

and two for you guys.

195

:

Don't let anyone make you feel small.

196

:

Don't let anyone make you feel inferior.

197

:

And if they do not like

you, that's on them.

198

:

That's on them, babe.

199

:

That's not on you.

200

:

All right, let's get to lesson three.

201

:

You can do the scary things.

202

:

It's the fear that is holding you back.

203

:

Ain't that the truth?

204

:

For the longest time, I was convinced

that I cannot travel by myself,

205

:

that I was not capable of doing it.

206

:

I don't know where I fed this lie into

my psyche and made myself believe it.

207

:

Like, I don't know where it started

and I, I know I have a lot of anxiety

208

:

around traveling in general, specifically

with flying, I always relied on

209

:

someone else to navigate the way.

210

:

And now it was up to me to be a big

girl, to put on my big girl pants

211

:

and figure out how to fly by myself.

212

:

And to me, that was terrifying,

anxiety inducing, and I wanted

213

:

to crawl out of my skin and sob.

214

:

But, coming back in one

piece, I can say, I can do it.

215

:

I fought fear, and I can fly by myself.

216

:

I was able to handle it.

217

:

I didn't get on the wrong plane.

218

:

I was able to, like, literally do

everything and anything by myself.

219

:

And so, you know what?

220

:

I did it.

221

:

I did it.

222

:

And I'm so proud of myself for that

because that was scary, you guys.

223

:

I had to acknowledge the fear I had

to work through it But I also had

224

:

to push through it in order to Get

to my final destination, to move

225

:

forward in what I needed to do.

226

:

And in that case, I had to

get to this conference because

227

:

it was a work obligation.

228

:

It was not optional, you guys.

229

:

I had to do it.

230

:

So, I needed to fight the

fear and do the scary thing.

231

:

And even when I did deal with the

situation that I did coming from

232

:

leaving Columbus and coming back to

Orlando, like I still got through it.

233

:

So like, let's actually

chat about that real quick.

234

:

So.

235

:

If you guys didn't see my Instagram

story, it was like, I want to say it

236

:

was the day of the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

237

:

I was coming back and it was

like a late night flight.

238

:

It was the only flight that I

can find out of Ohio to Orlando.

239

:

So I was already like tired.

240

:

I was already over it.

241

:

I was like, please, like,

I just want to get home.

242

:

And so I was with my coworker and

the Columbus, Ohio, like airport,

243

:

like their international airport

is super, super small, right?

244

:

So like, even if I wasn't with my

coworker, because we had a flight like

245

:

around the same time, I definitely

would have been able to like handle it.

246

:

Apparently when they did my like dmb

like my license photo And again, I just

247

:

got my license in November of last year.

248

:

So it's not like it's

old, old, like it's new.

249

:

It is so new.

250

:

I look exactly like my picture.

251

:

But anywho, I went

through four TSA agents.

252

:

Because the biometrics didn't match

my driver's license photo because

253

:

whoever took it at the DMV left this

like light on my forehead and the

254

:

biometrics don't match the photo.

255

:

So they were giving me so much trouble.

256

:

And when it came to like the third

person, I was getting a lot of anxiety.

257

:

She told me, Oh, well, if you don't

have another form of photo ID.

258

:

Then you're gonna be stuck

here and I was I lost it.

259

:

I Oh my god, like when I tell you I burst

out into sobs like uncontrollable sobs

260

:

Looking like an actual hot mess express

like you guys like it was so bad And so

261

:

she told me that and she was doing the

most because again, those biometrics

262

:

are optional like you don't have to

do them, but she was doing the most.

263

:

And I think she got off on like

the power that she had because she,

264

:

she did the most you guys, like

it was, Oh my God, it was so bad.

265

:

So like there I am sobbing.

266

:

My coworker's like already on

the other side of security.

267

:

I was like, oh my god, this is horrible.

268

:

And like, I had enough time.

269

:

Like, I had enough time to get to my gate

and like, pre board, like, everything.

270

:

But like, still, she told me

I was gonna be stranded there.

271

:

And I said, there's no way.

272

:

There is no way I'm gonna be stuck

in Columbus, Ohio, of all places.

273

:

Like, absolutely not.

274

:

Like, I just want to be home.

275

:

Then it took the fourth TSA agent,

which was like an older gentleman,

276

:

who literally was like, it's okay.

277

:

Like, it's okay.

278

:

We got you.

279

:

Like, don't even worry about it.

280

:

Like, it's okay.

281

:

Do you have like a work

ID or something on you?

282

:

Just show me that and you'll be fine.

283

:

But like that lady, that

third lady, she needs to not.

284

:

Because there I was, 25 years old,

looking like a hot ass mess, crying

285

:

my eyes out, because she told me

I was going to be stranded because

286

:

I didn't have another form of ID.

287

:

So a little bonus lesson here for you guys

is always bring two forms of photo ID when

288

:

you travel, because you don't want Want to

be like me, trying to get home at like 4.

289

:

30 at night to get on your 6pm

flight and basically be told you're

290

:

going to be stuck in Columbus, Ohio.

291

:

So figure it out.

292

:

So yeah, always come with another

form of photo ID you guys.

293

:

Like only that shit would happen

to me, you know, but anyway,

294

:

let's get to the next lesson.

295

:

Oh my god.

296

:

My last lesson for you guys is be a

sponge and soak in everything you can.

297

:

Now, I think what's really cool about

the current job that I have now within

298

:

my organization is that I am being

exposed so early on in my professional

299

:

development to individuals that have

this like wide range of knowledge and

300

:

talents and they're sharing it with me

because I'm learning through them, right?

301

:

I'm getting a master class

from experts in their field.

302

:

And also being able to not only apply

that into the work that I do for my

303

:

day job, but also to dare to be iconic.

304

:

I tell my boss this, like, all the

time, like, the way she conducts

305

:

herself in meetings like to me That's

like a master class and being a boss.

306

:

She's owning her space like she is an

icon and i've told her this multiple

307

:

times that she's an icon like seeing

the way she conducts herself in meetings,

308

:

seeing the way that she conducts herself,

moves about situations, and how she,

309

:

you know, handles certain scenarios.

310

:

That's amazing to me.

311

:

And I'm able to soak that in and take

that in and apply it not only to the work

312

:

that I do there, but to dare to be iconic.

313

:

And I know that it's only making

me a stronger individual, but

314

:

also a stronger business woman.

315

:

And I'm so lucky that I landed exactly

where I am now and that I, I get to

316

:

have these experiences, but just in

general, like sometimes we feel like

317

:

even if it's not like a job that we want

or a class that we want to take, right?

318

:

Sometimes it's things that we have

to do in order to survive, but every

319

:

situation, every scenario that you end

up being and whether it's Working at a

320

:

grocery store or working in a theme park.

321

:

You really don't want to do that or taking

this class, but you really don't want to

322

:

take this class because you'd rather be

taking another class, but you have to take

323

:

this one because of your major, right?

324

:

Like all these things that we

really don't want to do, but like,

325

:

we're doing it because we have to.

326

:

All of those things are

transferable skills.

327

:

Like every single thing that we

do, we can be a sponge and soak it

328

:

in and apply it to other aspects

of our lives as we move forward.

329

:

If there is one thing you take away from

this episode, please let it be this.

330

:

Be a sponge and soak in everything

you possibly can even when you

331

:

don't think it's gonna help you in

the long run, it does, you guys.

332

:

I promise you, it does.

333

:

So within all these lessons

comes a lot of growth, right?

334

:

And With a lot of growth you have to be

able to sustain it in order to propel

335

:

forward right in order to move forward

in this self discovery Journey, and I

336

:

think the biggest thing that kind of gets

overlooked when we are Trying to sustain

337

:

the growth that we've accomplished.

338

:

We need to be able to protect our energy

and basically avoid burnout because in

339

:

these high pressure situations or even

these situations where there's a lot of

340

:

noise around it or a lot of chaos, or it's

just a really busy time of year, right?

341

:

A lot of things are go, go, go, go, go.

342

:

You can lose yourself in the process,

and we have to make sure to take that

343

:

time for ourselves protect our energy.

344

:

I hate burnout and like it's it's to the

point of you physically worked yourself

345

:

so hard that you're just like done

right and we want to avoid that because

346

:

we're we're trying to move forward

and we're trying to move forward in a

347

:

healthy way and I for one Definitely,

definitely have burned myself out.

348

:

Like please, I'm literally a

small business owner and I have

349

:

a full-time job on top of that.

350

:

I've definitely burned

myself out, you guys.

351

:

Like let's be so real, but

like we all have, right?

352

:

So how do you protect yourself like,

it's hard, but here are some of the

353

:

tips that I've written down that

I've actually used in my real life

354

:

that has made a difference for me.

355

:

In my opinion, the first step to

avoiding burnout is recognizing

356

:

burnout before it happens.

357

:

It takes time to be able to

take notice of those patterns

358

:

and behaviors within yourself.

359

:

So it's not easy, and it's not a quick

fix, but we just have to keep working on

360

:

these things until we can recognize it and

be able to put these practices into place.

361

:

For me personally, like my personal

signs of burnout are that I am

362

:

so unmotivated to do anything and

that I'm paralyzed with anxiety.

363

:

Now it's a little tricky

because I do have anxiety.

364

:

My body reacts differently to burnout

anxiety as compared to regular anxiety

365

:

or other anxieties that I have.

366

:

The way that burnout anxiety feels

or shows up for me is being paralyzed

367

:

with the fear of not wanting to do

anything and just, like, sitting in it.

368

:

I physically cannot do

anything because I am so tired.

369

:

And for me, I know how

that feels within my body.

370

:

I've put myself out Through a

lot of situations of overworking

371

:

myself until I get to that point

to recognize that pattern and

372

:

feeling and behavior within me.

373

:

The next thing for me would also be

like this overwhelming feeling of doom.

374

:

I just have this big pit

in my stomach and it's just

375

:

encompasses my whole entire being.

376

:

It takes over me.

377

:

It kind of goes hand in hand with

being paralyzed by anxiety.

378

:

My personal advice when it comes to

recognizing burnout before it hits,

379

:

is you really have to take time

with yourself and truly, truly take

380

:

note of how your body reacts, your

patterns and behaviors, to when you're

381

:

in these busy, chaotic, stressful

times, because that's when burnout

382

:

is more susceptible to sprout, right?

383

:

Like that's when it's more susceptible to

show up and we need to start taking notes.

384

:

It's kind of like that roadmap to

me when it deals with trauma like

385

:

kind of like a roadmap to burnout

like how does your body react?

386

:

How do certain maybe situations

like how do you react to certain

387

:

situations when you're at your wit's

end when you're about to burn out?

388

:

Right, like all of them can kind of

go back to what's your roadmap to you?

389

:

When you're about to burn out whether

what are some symptoms, patterns

390

:

,behaviors that you recognize?

391

:

Are you more snappy when your mom's

talking to you about something?

392

:

I know I am Sorry, mom.

393

:

Are you more sassy?

394

:

Are you angrier faster like all these

things like take note of it Write it down

395

:

somewhere that is private and personal to

you and, you know, just take note of it.

396

:

And I think that's the first

step in recognizing burnout

397

:

and how it shows up for you.

398

:

And that's also why self care is so

crucial in sustaining personal growth

399

:

because we go on these amazing experiences

and sometimes we forget to just step

400

:

back and take a moment for ourselves.

401

:

Like even when we're on vacations, right?

402

:

We're all go, go, go.

403

:

Or at least like, that's, that's how I am.

404

:

I'm go, go, go, go to the next thing

cause I want to see everything and

405

:

anything, but like, it's okay to, to

take a breath, to breathe, to step

406

:

back and to like truly take in your

surroundings and be in touch with you.

407

:

Like, it's okay to do that.

408

:

That helps you avoid burnout.

409

:

So here are some of my burnout prevention

tips that have actually started working

410

:

for me, so I wanted to share so the

first things first, I'm a realist.

411

:

No, but like genuinely the first thing

is Prioritize your rest and recovery.

412

:

So even if that means taking an hour

or two out of your day, carving

413

:

some time whether it's scrolling on

your phone, going on a walk, doing

414

:

some type of movement, talking to

your friend, or just doing something

415

:

that makes your soul feel alive.

416

:

That sets a fire within you, like it

brings joy back into your life because

417

:

sometimes when we're in that almost

hitting burnout where we've hit burnout.

418

:

Sometimes, like, life feels dull

because we feel so unmotivated,

419

:

we just don't want to do anything.

420

:

I think it's really important in

that rest and recovery stage to

421

:

make sure that we are doing things

that make us feel alive again.

422

:

That make us smile, that make us laugh,

that bring joy to our lives, that just

423

:

make everything sparkle a little bit more.

424

:

So find what that is for you and

make sure to prioritize that.

425

:

My second one is setting boundaries, and

I know boundaries are tricky and I know it

426

:

takes time to set them like trust me like

I know like I'm still dealing with them.

427

:

But I think the first way when it

comes to like avoiding burnout is

428

:

truly listening to your gut and letting

that steer you in the direction that

429

:

it's telling you to go in because your

gut's never wrong like, it's always

430

:

steering you in the right direction.

431

:

And also deep down, you know

your bandwidth and capacity.

432

:

If you can't take on another

project, if you can't do X, Y, and

433

:

Z, like, you know it deep down.

434

:

And again, that's connected to your gut.

435

:

So, remember the power in saying

no and setting those boundaries

436

:

with yourself and with others.

437

:

But yeah, we are definitely doing an

episode about boundaries later on.

438

:

My third one is practicing gratitude:

taking five minutes out of your day,

439

:

even if it's literally just to recenter

yourself and listing three things

440

:

on a piece of paper or on Like in

your notes app on your phone about

441

:

what are you grateful for today?

442

:

Just being able to practice

gratitude in your everyday life

443

:

really helps with that mindset.

444

:

Sometimes I think of burnout as this

like gloomy cloud that kind of like.

445

:

Drifts over you and then stays

there and then like pours.

446

:

So, in order to have the sun shine

again, in order for it to peer through

447

:

that gloomy cloud, I think practicing

gratitude is the key in that, for your

448

:

mindset to switch into A more lighter

positive vibe because burnout really does

449

:

affect your whole being in not a good way.

450

:

Then my last one is be

Present avoid multitasking.

451

:

I know we live in a society that, praises

multitasking, but in the case of avoiding

452

:

burnout, we really do have to avoid it.

453

:

It's, like, multitasking takes so much

brainpower, and it takes you everywhere,

454

:

Burnout does come with that, that

pressure of having to do everything at

455

:

once, which is why sometimes we lean

into multitasking tendencies because

456

:

like we want to get everything done.

457

:

And we think that being able to

multitask and do all these things at

458

:

the same time will actually be quicker

and we can get further on our to do

459

:

list, we can cross things off sooner.

460

:

When in all reality, multitasking kind

of does slow you down, you're not able

461

:

to take in the moment to be present

and truly focus on one thing at a time.

462

:

And I'm so guilty of this, you guys,

because my brain is always going.

463

:

It's going, going, going, going,

going, and it doesn't stop.

464

:

Like it really, Really doesn't stop and

I I'm guilty of like this multitasking

465

:

thing of just wanting to do everything at

once and because I think That I'm gonna

466

:

be able to delete things off of my to do

list faster I'm able to make that cross

467

:

off because there's nothing better in

this world than that feeling of crossing

468

:

things off on your to do list, I know

.My my type a people get me on that one.

469

:

Okay, like that is the best

feeling in the world and sometimes

470

:

we think oh Multitasking is

the way to do it, and it's not.

471

:

We need to be in the now, and we

need to take everything in, just

472

:

like I had mentioned earlier with

like, The vacation example, right?

473

:

Like we go, go, go, go, go.

474

:

Sometimes we forget the little moments.

475

:

We forget the joys of it.

476

:

Like, why are we on this vacation?

477

:

It's to relax and to enjoy

and yes, to see new things.

478

:

But also we're able to

take time for ourselves.

479

:

Like it's a vacation,

we're supposed to chill.

480

:

We're supposed to take it slow.

481

:

So please, please, please

avoid multitasking as much

482

:

as you can, I understand.

483

:

But that's one of my biggest burnout tips.

484

:

All right, Radiant Icons, that

is your tea time sesh for today.

485

:

I hope you enjoyed today's episode.

486

:

If you did, make sure to subscribe, to

leave a comment, rating, review, share it

and anyone, honestly, because we love more

488

:

Radiant Icons in our iconic community of

ours, and I will never get tired of saying

489

:

that, Radiant Icons, because I mean it.

490

:

I love you guys so much, and I

literally, truly cannot believe that

491

:

that after this episode, there are

only two more episodes for:

492

:

And to think this is the year that

Dare to be Iconic premiered like the

493

:

podcast, like March 27th, 2024 is when

we had our three episode premiere.

494

:

And to think that in just two more

episodes, we're closing out the

495

:

year Dare to be Iconic premiered.

496

:

Like that's so wild to me.

497

:

And what's even more wilder or iconic

is that the last episode of:

498

:

like my birthday special, you guys.

499

:

Like that's so, I couldn't have planned

it better myself, to be honest with you.

500

:

Like, I truly, truly couldn't.

501

:

Like, that is just, Like, chef's kiss.

502

:

Like, beautiful.

503

:

Like, I love it.

504

:

Because you guys know I love my birthday.

505

:

I call it a national holiday.

506

:

National Amanda Day is December 19th.

507

:

But the episode will come out

the day before my birthday.

508

:

So we're celebrating early, you guys.

509

:

Because if I could make my birthday

a month celebration I so would, but I

510

:

unfortunately cannot do that because

my parents would be so sick of me.

511

:

So, we're just gonna celebrate a day

early with you guys, and then we're

512

:

living it up on the 19th, which is

National Amanda Day, so, don't worry.

513

:

Be prepared for all the Instagrams.

514

:

You're gonna be so sick of me.

515

:

Anyway, let's talk about

next week's episode.

516

:

We are continuing our Everyday

Icon series with my girl Becs.

517

:

She is a TikTok influencer

and one of my closest friends.

518

:

And we are spilling the

tea about self advocacy.

519

:

I think it's so important to recognize the

power of using your voice, particularly

520

:

when it comes to the workplace.

521

:

So we both come from a performing

background and we've had to recognize

522

:

the power of our voices very early on,

and we just want to share that message

523

:

with all of you, with all the radiant

icons, because I love you guys so much,

524

:

and I just want you to recognize that

you hold so much power, and if there

525

:

is something going on that is wrong, or

that you feel uncomfortable, Anything

526

:

of that nature, like, you have the

power to say something and to stop it.

527

:

So I'm very excited for next week's

episode, so make sure to subscribe

528

:

and tune in, because it will be

an episode you don't want to miss.
