30
:Anywho, let's get to today's episode.
31
:We are going back to season one, one of
my favorite episodes from season one, The
32
:Secret to Living Your Most Iconic Life.
33
:This episode is based off of that
Dare to be Iconic mindset, and I
34
:know I haven't spoken a lot about the
Dare to be Iconic mindset in Season
35
:2, especially for my new listeners.
36
:You're probably like, Amanda, what
is the Dare to be Iconic mindset?
37
:Don't worry.
38
:I got you, Radiant Icons.
39
:We are going to the very
beginning, that core, solid
40
:foundation of Dare to be Iconic.
41
:It's built on four pillars, and
that is the Dare to be Iconic
42
:mindset, which is also the secret
to living your most iconic life.
43
:So are you ready, Radiant Icons?
44
:Because your tea time
sesh is starting now.
45
:Let's start with what the heck is
the dare to be iconic mindset, okay?
46
:So the dare to be iconic mindset
is based off of four pillars,
47
:so we have trust, Confidence
,determination, and authenticity.
48
:Now, the dare to be iconic mindset
is not a one and done type deal.
49
:It is a continuous process that you
have to work on myself included I am
50
:not perfect by any means, and I am
still actively working on this as well.
51
:As many of you know, if you are
following the Dare to be Iconic
52
:blog, my word for 2024 is trust.
53
:And oh my God, the journey of trust
has been, has been an interesting one.
54
:Everything I have done this year relates
back to trust in one way or another.
55
:And I didn't realize how prevalent this
theme of trust would really be in my life.
56
:But oh my god, it's insane.
57
:So let's start with trust.
58
:I think it is this wild concept that we
can so easily trust others, but then not
59
:give ourselves that same trust in return.
60
:And if you're new here, I
definitely have trust issues.
61
:I am the first person to admit
that I have trust issues.
62
:I definitely do which is why I
wanted trust to be my word for this
63
:year because it's so prevalent to
everything in my life and I believe
64
:in order to Keep going on this dare
to be iconic journey with you guys.
65
:I need to start trusting
myself more, right?
66
:It's to honor that commitment of
choosing myself that I had last year.
67
:Last year was 2023.
68
:It was that year of me.
69
:I did everything for myself.
70
:I chose myself first.
71
:So in order to continue
honoring that commitment.
72
:I have to start trusting myself,
and man, is that a lot harder
73
:than I expected, but this is what
I've learned so far about trust.
74
:I somehow can't trust myself fully still.
75
:No matter how much I prove to myself that
I am fully capable of doing everything
76
:I've set my mind to, I still am missing
this part of fully trusting myself 100%.
77
:And maybe I won't ever get there, right?
78
:To that 100 percent completion.
79
:And maybe that's okay.
80
:Maybe I'm not supposed to
trust myself a thousand percent
81
:or even a hundred percent.
82
:Let me not get crazy here, but maybe
I'm not supposed to have it a hundred
83
:percent figured out with trust.
84
:Maybe trust is supposed to always be
this like continuous journey for me.
85
:Like maybe that's the whole
point of trust, right?
86
:That it's ever evolving and that
you're not always going to have it
87
:a thousand percent figured out all
the time because it's like you can't.
88
:People will break your trust and you
will break your trust within yourself.
89
:And sometimes you have to break
yourself down to bring yourself back up.
90
:And maybe that's the
same concept with trust.
91
:So how the heck do I
start trusting myself?
92
:I think it's by continuing to take that
risk on myself and taking that leap
93
:of faith and trusting that everything
will be okay which in turn relates to
94
:determination, which is one of the other
pillars in the Dare to be Iconic mindset.
95
:Now, determination, I have down pat.
96
:If there is one thing about me, is
if I say I'm gonna do something, I'm
97
:going to find a way to make it happen.
98
:Point blank and period.
99
:It's either I'm going to find the action
steps to make it happen, I'm going to find
100
:the people that I need to connect with
to make it happen, or it's going to be a
101
:beautiful combination of the two, right?
102
:But either way, I have
always been determined and
103
:maybe, that leans into trust.
104
:Maybe those two go hand in hand.
105
:I mean, honestly, when I was coming
up with the Dare to be Iconic mindset,
106
:because I think these four pillars,
right, trust, authenticity, determination,
107
:and confidence all go together so
well, but maybe determination and trust
108
:really do go hand in hand together.
109
:Because in order to take that risk on
yourself and take that leap of faith, you
110
:have to be determined to reach your goals.
111
:You have to be determined to not
care what other people say about you.
112
:Which, in turn, also
connects to authenticity.
113
:My next point.
114
:You have to embrace who you are a
thousand percent and keep being authentic
115
:to you and to whatever room you step
into, which then goes into confidence.
116
:We have to be comfortable and
confident in our authentic, or
117
:as I like to say, iconic selves.
118
:When we present ourselves to the world,
when we take that leap of faith and
119
:that risk on ourselves, that it's
all going to work out because it's In
120
:turn, deep down, we trust ourselves.
121
:Man, maybe I figured out
the recipe right here.
122
:Maybe it just took me talking
to you guys to figure it out.
123
:It's probably that, to be honest with you.
124
:But my whole entire point with the Dare
To Be Iconic mindset is that it's ever
125
:evolving right that we are continuously
working on it because you can't be a
126
:hundred and thousand percent done and
finished like that's not, that's not true.
127
:It's just like healing right healing is
this continuous rollercoaster journey.
128
:There's ups, downs, twists and
turns, but you know, we gotta stay
129
:on that path of the rollercoaster
because that's just how healing is.
130
:And that's the same thing with
the Dare to Be Iconic mindset.
131
:We have to keep working towards these
four pillars, have to keep going into
132
:this ever evolving process because
we, as humans, as individuals,
133
:are ever evolving and changing.
134
:We're not just one thing, we are
multi faceted Multidimensional
135
:beings on this earth
136
:I think we have to accept that we're
not always going to be perfect in it.
137
:The journey is not always
going to be smooth sailing.
138
:It's not.
139
:Trust me.
140
:Let me give you guys an example of
the Dare to Be Iconic mindset in
141
:my life and how it's ever evolving.
142
:Determination has always been
something that I've had since
143
:I was a little baby Amanda.
144
:As I said beforehand, once I set my
eyes on something, I'm going for it.
145
:Like there is nothing holding me back.
146
:If I say I'm going to meet X, Y, and Z.
147
:You best believe it's gonna happen.
148
:So you either get on the train with
me Or you get off because i'm not
149
:letting anyone slowing me down like
that's absolutely not gonna happen.
150
:I have so many dreams within that
dare to be iconic umbrella that I
151
:can not reveal yet, but they are
coming true and it's so exciting.
152
:But none of that would happen if I
wasn't determined to make it work.
153
:If I wasn't daring to make my
dreams a reality and create that
154
:own magic for myself in my life.
155
:So determination, that's an easy
one for me to explain, but let's,
156
:let's get into confidence, shall we?
157
:Because I was just on a FaceTime call
with my lovely friend Dani, which
158
:you will hear me reference a lot,
and we were talking about confidence.
159
:Now, I'm just gonna warn you guys.
160
:When you turn 25, no one warns
you that your body will change.
161
:You think you know everything
about your body at 24?
162
:Oh my god, joke's on you.
163
:Joke is on you.
164
:I've never been on more of a
rollercoaster with my body since
165
:I was like in middle school.
166
:When I turned 25, my eczema
that was dormant for like seven,
167
:eight years, decided to flare up.
168
:And not just like a little baby flare up.
169
:No!
170
:No.
171
:It decided to be like the worst
flare up I've ever experienced.
172
:And I think what I forgot about
eczema is how detrimental it can
173
:be to your mental health and , it
wrecked me that's why I started the
174
:daring to be confident challenge.
175
:I started that challenge because
of how low my self concept was.
176
:Because of how I saw myself
in the mirror with my eczema.
177
:It is so hard to see your body
change overnight from something
178
:that you're not used to.
179
:It messed with my self confidence, and
I just felt so ugly in my skin and I
180
:felt like I didn't belong because I
Wasn't used to the body that I was seeing
181
:myself in, you know Like I I wasn't used
to seeing my skin as something that I
182
:haven't seen for seven- eight years.
183
:And I didn't know how to deal with it.
184
:I didn't know how to process it mentally.
185
:And I think that's what people
forget when your body changes all of
186
:a sudden It messes with your mind.
187
:It messes with how you see yourself . The
more I was opening up to my friends about
188
:how low my self concept was and how low
my mental state was because I couldn't
189
:recognize who I was in the mirror.
190
:I realized I wasn't alone in that feeling.
191
:I realized that we were all kind of going
through it, but in our own unique way.
192
:Right.
193
:We all were feeling self conscious
about some part of our body.
194
:So I was like, how can we change that?
195
:How can we.
196
:Collectively go on this journey together
to not only becoming our most iconic
197
:selves, but to become more confident
because that is such a key pillar
198
:to the dare to be iconic mindset.
199
:I think confidence not only stems
within ourselves, right, on learning
200
:how to love ourselves, and that
includes all facets of it- loving our
201
:personality, loving our flaws, loving
our insecurities, and loving our bodies.
202
:And I know that's hard as young
women and also men out there to
203
:love who we are inside and out.
204
:And yes, it is an individual
journey, but it's also just
205
:as much a collective journey.
206
:Because while we're working on
ourselves, why not bring our friends
207
:along for the ride so that we all
can succeed and be our iconic selves.
208
:So that's what I'm dealing with
in the confidence aspect of
209
:this Dare to be Iconic mindset.
210
:Alright, now I have gone on a very
long journey with authenticity, right?
211
:Loving exactly who I am, thousand percent,
not looking for validation in anyone
212
:else, because I truly love who I am.
213
:But I would be lying to you if
I didn't say, sometimes I do
214
:struggle with authenticity, but it
may not be in the way you think.
215
:So, if you don't follow me on Instagram,
I do this series called Tea Time with
216
:Amanda, which, fun fact, inspired this
whole Tea Time session on my podcast.
217
:And one of my Tea Times is about
how I got laid off in August
218
:of 2023 From my dream job.
219
:I got laid off and I was unemployed for
about six months until I secured work
220
:at a new job that I am super happy in.
221
:I really do love it, and shout out to my
boss, she is listening to this right now.
222
:You're an icon.
223
:But I secured my first big
girl, full time, like, job.
224
:Right?
225
:Like, I get, like, like,
benefits and stuff.
226
:Like, that's so cool.
227
:Like, why?
228
:Like, I'm an adult now.
229
:Like, that's so crazy.
230
:But anyway.
231
:I work very closely with my boss and
the amount of times I have embarrassed
232
:myself in front of my boss is astounding.
233
:I genuinely don't know how
I keep doing this to myself.
234
:Now, I do pride myself in always
being authentic to who I am.
235
:I bring my iconic self everywhere
I go from that interview, all
236
:the way till I was hired, to now,
you know, working in the company.
237
:That's great.
238
:I love that for me and I'm
sure everyone else loves it too
239
:because they probably get a laugh.
240
:However, at this point, I really
think I may be a personality hire
241
:because I have a certain goal.
242
:I'm not going to reveal it on this podcast
because it's a little embarrassing, but
243
:I have a certain goal that is fueled by
delusion and confidence that honestly
244
:should be studied because this delusion
I have and the confidence I have with it.
245
:Like, that's, that is
something right there.
246
:Like, they, they need scientists
to study that, but it is so second
247
:nature for me to say this delusion.
248
:So it just, like, came out of my
mouth during one of our one on
249
:one meetings, and she laughed.
250
:And she was like, oh, you're manifesting.
251
:Like, I love that for you.
252
:I was like, thanks boss, and then
I like wanted to like crawl in a
253
:hole and never show my face again.
254
:I just like definitely sent a Snapchat
to all my girlfriends saying, you
255
:won't believe how I embarrassed myself.
256
:Then we get to my second
all staff meeting.
257
:And I'm literally like, okay, Amanda,
filter, like, don't say anything.
258
:And that morning, okay, like,
just before, That staff meeting.
259
:I had gotten a very lovely Instagram
notification That goes hand in hand
260
:with the delusion that I have and
I was like, oh my god Like I was on
261
:cloud nine like I I was honestly Still
daydreaming about my entire life and
262
:like picturing it because that delusion
was in my head Low key coming true
263
:because something happened on Instagram.
264
:Again, I'm fueled on Delusion so
I'm like, oh, like, maybe I won't
265
:say anything in this meeting, like,
it's okay, like, I don't need to say
266
:anything in the icebreaker, la la la.
267
:Of course, I don't know
why I said that to myself.
268
:I love to talk.
269
:I can talk to a wall.
270
:So I decided to unmute myself.
271
:I should have just kept the mute button
because my boss was about to talk, and
272
:I was like, oh, I don't have to go,
and she was like, oh, no, no, no, go.
273
:I should have just muted myself.
274
:I should have just muted myself.
275
:Because you know what I did?
276
:Embarrassed myself.
277
:That is absolutely correct, everyone.
278
:I not only embarrassed myself in front
of my boss again, but to the entire team
279
:by stating my delusion full right out.
280
:Yep, it was bad.
281
:Because again, I don't have a
filter when it comes to my delusions
282
:because it's such second nature.
283
:So I think my whole point with that
story of embarrassment is like,
284
:yes, I am embracing my iconic self.
285
:Yes.
286
:Do I bring a little
pizzazz anywhere I go to?
287
:Absolutely.
288
:Do I probably bring the laughter?
289
:Oh yeah.
290
:No, they're definitely laughing at me,
but, or maybe with me, I don't know.
291
:It's probably at me.
292
:But anyway, I think maybe
we learn levels of it.
293
:I don't know.
294
:I'm still exploring that one.
295
:Because I'm definitely being myself.
296
:But maybe sometimes I don't always have
to say every delusion that comes to mind.
297
:I told you, I'm actively going
on this journey with you.
298
:I don't have it 100 percent figured out.
299
:So to sum it up, The dare to be iconic
mindset will always be a work in progress.
300
:But it's about how you move forward in
this collective and individual journey.
301
:These four pillars of trust, confidence,
determination, and authenticity really
302
:are the foundation of what makes Dare
to Be Iconic so, dare I say, iconic.
303
:If you aren't constantly working on
these four pillars that I think are
304
:such constant and prevalent themes
in life, then, how can you start
305
:embracing your iconic self if you
don't get down to the root of it?
306
:If you don't get down to the
root of trust, of confidence, of
307
:authenticity, and determination?
308
:So, how can you work towards embracing
the Dare to be Iconic mindset on
309
:the daily so that you can start
living your most iconic life yet?
310
:Your tribe is the most important thing
when you're going on this Dare to be
311
:Iconic journey to embrace that Dare
to be Iconic mindset so that you can
312
:start living your most iconic life yet.
313
:It is so much about this collective
journey, you guys, and I will emphasize
314
:this until I'm blue in the face, but
truly find your accountability buddy
315
:and go on this journey with them.
316
:A great example to start would be
go to my show notes below, follow
317
:me on Instagram and on my Instagram.
318
:There is a pinned post for the daring to
be confident challenge where I dare you
319
:to go on this 30 day challenge of building
up your confidence with your besties.
320
:That's the trick there because
we all are going to embrace
321
:our iconic selves together.
322
:Because again, the dare to be
iconic journey is not only about
323
:the individual journey, but
about that collective journey.
324
:So let your friends be there
to support and uplift you.
325
:When you need them for them to be
that hype person for them to be that
326
:mirror when you need it and vice versa.
327
:Alright, Radiant Icons, that is
