Fangirl therapy is in session, radiant icons.

Amanda is back for a chaotic, healing, sparkle-filled tea time sesh all about Miami 2.0 🌴✨

From the fan-favorite “Lando’s Lucky Charm” theory (because somehow every race she attends ends Lando Norris ends up dominating) to the unexpected healing this trip brought her, she dives into the moments that made Miami unforgettable.

Amanda opens up about how Miami 2.0 became more than just a race weekend — it became a reset.

This episode is for the fangirls rebuilding themselves, the girls learning to trust joy again, and anyone trying to remember who they were before the world told them to dim their light.

And stay until the end… because Amanda teases a major life update coming next week.

Amanda Paolicelli:

What's up, radiant icons?

2

:

And welcome back to Dare to be

Iconic, the podcast made for icons

3

:

who are daring to be themselves.

4

:

I'm your host, Amanda Paolicelli, and for

today's tea time sesh, radiant icons, I am

5

:

answering your questions about Miami 2.0.

6

:

But before we get into that piping hot

tea, I dare you to own your sexy with

7

:

me this summer by grabbing your favorite

pieces from the Own Your Sexy collection.

8

:

All pieces are now available

on daretobeiconic.com

9

:

or linked in the show notes below.

10

:

And without further ado, radiant icons,

let's get to that piping hot tea.

11

:

Let's answer your

questions about Miami 2.0.

12

:

Are you ready, radiant icons?

13

:

Because your tea time

sesh is starting now.

14

:

Before I get into these piping hot,

very juicy questions, I just have to

15

:

say every time I do a DTBI hotline,

a Q&A dedicated tea time sesh, I am

16

:

always thoroughly surprised by the

type of questions you guys send me.

17

:

It's literally insane.

18

:

Again, like, every time I

ask, you guys delivered.

19

:

Like, I don't know why

I'm surprised anymore.

20

:

You guys just always show up for me,

and I love you guys so much for that.

21

:

And I love this first question, so

let's just get into it, radiant icons.

22

:

Oh my goodness.

23

:

"Amanda, what is this Lando's lucky charm

theory, and why am I obsessed with it?"

24

:

Well, you should be obsessed with it.

25

:

Um, you should be obsessed with it because

it's really a funny story, and every

26

:

time I tell one of my girlfriends this

theory of me being Lando's lucky charm,

27

:

everyone is just like, "You know what?

28

:

It makes sense."

29

:

And I don't know if that's because they

just love me so much that they're gonna

30

:

support this delusional hypothesis

that I have constructed, but there is

31

:

evidence to support my claim, okay?

32

:

To support this hypothesis.

33

:

I feel like I'm back in, like, sixth

grade or seventh grade when we did the

34

:

science fair, you guys, when I'm, like,

saying like, "Ooh, hypothesis," like I'm

35

:

a little scientist, but honestly, I am

the scientist behind Lando's lucky charm.

36

:

In fact, actually, I'm not

the one who originated that.

37

:

It was you guys.

38

:

You guys did that back in Spain 2024.

39

:

So let's, let's buckle up and get

ready 'cause it is a wild ride.

40

:

So the Lando's lucky charm theory came

effect all the way back Spain:

41

:

my first race that I ever attended.

42

:

It was also my first full season of

F1, and I decided, you know what?

43

:

What's more iconic than traveling

across the world to go watch F1, right?

44

:

Like, let's not go four

hours away from me in Miami.

45

:

Let's go to Spain.

46

:

Like, a foreign race

for your first F1 race?

47

:

Like, hell yeah.

48

:

Like, let's do it.

49

:

So I did it, and it was the

best decision of my life.

50

:

But basically, what happened in Spain

is that you guys loved me living up

51

:

my, like, Cheetah Girls F1 dreams.

52

:

Like, you guys were loving it,

and I, I was loving it as well.

53

:

And this was my first trip in

general going international, like

54

:

away from my parents and everything.

55

:

So I was of course sharing my whole

experience on social media until

56

:

I was able to spill the tea with

you guys on this very podcast.

57

:

And again, we were like living our lives,

like you and I, we were in it together,

58

:

Radiant Icons, like we truly were.

59

:

And since I was live reporting

everything, I had posted a photo of me

60

:

in my Lando Norris corset, um, for the

pit lane walk, and I was in front of

61

:

Lando's garage with his car behind me.

62

:

And I have never looked

more beautiful in my life.

63

:

Like, I was so fucking

happy in that moment.

64

:

I was just radiating joy, like

radiating joy in that moment.

65

:

And I had posted it that Saturday

of qualifying, and I was like

66

:

just missing @landonorris.

67

:

And you guys hype me up in the comments,

like you always do on every single photo,

68

:

which I love you guys for, like down bad.

69

:

And you guys were like, "Oh my

God, like Lando is missing out.

70

:

Like you are his lucky charm.

71

:

Like you are so beautiful.

72

:

Like Lando needs to be on DTBI,"

which again, I agree with.

73

:

But anyway, you guys

were really hyping me up.

74

:

And at that point while you guys

were hyping me up, it was qualifying,

75

:

and Lando had gotten pole.

76

:

And it was the first time in a long ass

time that Lando had finally gotten pole.

77

:

And at that very moment while I was

celebrating, jumping up and down in

78

:

the Max Verstappen section, and Lando

did his victory lap, and I swear to

79

:

God he waved to me in his fucking car.

80

:

Like I swear to God.

81

:

Like I mean, who wouldn't?

82

:

Who wouldn't be waving at,

you know, the tiny, cute girl

83

:

in Lando Norris merch, right?

84

:

If you, if you were Lando Norris

himself, like it just makes sense, right?

85

:

But anyway, let me live

on that delusion, okay?

86

:

Let me, let me just think

that he waved at me.

87

:

Okay.

88

:

But anyway, I'm screaming up and down.

89

:

I'm so fucking happy, elated actually.

90

:

And you guys were blowing up my phone.

91

:

You would have thought that I had

met Lando himself by the way you

92

:

guys were blowing up my phone.

93

:

And in the comments and DMs,

I was getting, "Oh my God,

94

:

Amanda, you are his lucky charm.

95

:

You need to go to every race.

96

:

Like you are the reason this is happening.

97

:

Like the lucky charm is here.

98

:

Like thank God."

99

:

And that is how Lando's lucky

charm started, because then he got

100

:

second place at the race in Spain.

101

:

And then when I went to Miami

last year and I went to Vegas,

102

:

the same pattern happened.

103

:

Again, we are, we are going to ignore

that he got disqualified because that

104

:

was not his doing for Vegas, okay?

105

:

But again, the pattern still stands.

106

:

It's just been proven time and time

again, every race that I attend, Lando

107

:

gets pole for qualifying, whether it

is sprint or just regular qualifying.

108

:

And then he gets second

place for the big race.

109

:

And in Miami, I do have to say, two times

in a row, this man wins the sprint race.

110

:

So again, like, in Miami this

time, you guys were also hyping

111

:

it up in the comments, being like,

"You need to go to every race.

112

:

Like, you really are Lando's lucky charm.

113

:

Like, thank you for your service."

114

:

And again, I'm so happy to

provide this service for you guys.

115

:

Like, genuinely, I'm just so happy.

116

:

Like, you're welcome.

117

:

Like, you are welcome, okay?

118

:

You are welcome, Lando Norris.

119

:

I am your lucky charm.

120

:

Put me in the paddock,

you'll get first place.

121

:

I promise you that.

122

:

Anyway, next question.

123

:

Did Miami 2.0

124

:

feel like an escape, a reset, or

a homecoming version of yourself?

125

:

I definitely think Miami 2.0

126

:

was a combo between a

reset and a homecoming.

127

:

I know I mentioned on last week's tea

time sesh that, you know, I've been

128

:

really struggling with this concept of me

reclaiming my love for F1, and reclaiming

129

:

joy in my life, and reconnecting to

myself, and I had this belief that I

130

:

have lost my sparkle because of things

that I am currently processing, right?

131

:

Whether it's privately or publicly.

132

:

And I definitely think Miami was

the trip that I needed, Miami 2.0,

133

:

to reset and recenter, and find

realignment back with myself.

134

:

So it was a homecoming in sorts,

and I just, I really needed it for

135

:

my soul, and I needed it for me

so I can come back home to myself.

136

:

So Miami was a little bit of both.

137

:

It was just healing overall

for me, which was very, very

138

:

beautiful and very much needed.

139

:

My perspective in life, um, has

definitely shifted, but in a good way.

140

:

Like, for the last couple of

months it's been very touch and go.

141

:

Um, it's been very difficult to

navigate, and I've been a lot more, how

142

:

do I say this, negative than positive.

143

:

Like, I usually have a very positive

outlook and find the silver lining and the

144

:

beauty in life, but for the last couple

of months, because it's been so damn

145

:

challenging, it's been really hard to be

that Amanda that has that positive mindset

146

:

that I've worked so hard to, like, have.

147

:

I haven't had it for a while, and

Miami was the shift that I needed to

148

:

finally put all the, the pieces back

in place to reconnect back to myself.

149

:

Next question, radiant icons.

150

:

Ooh, this is a good one.

151

:

What moment from the weekend felt so

unreal it almost didn't feel real?

152

:

To answer this question in the most

fair way, Radiant Icons, I'm gonna

153

:

give you my top three moments, and

the first one definitely has to be

154

:

the McLaren Racing Live Show Run.

155

:

I was within 10 feet of Mr.

156

:

World Champion Lando Norris,

and I, I was so happy.

157

:

Like I was so in my element.

158

:

Like one of my friends from dance class,

she swiped up on my reaction video of

159

:

seeing Lando literally race within 10 feet

from me, um, and she was like, "It is just

160

:

so, so nice to see you in your element.

161

:

Like you were literally radiating joy."

162

:

And I will have to share that video

again and make it like a permanent

163

:

video, 'cause I only made it a

story, but my face, I was so happy.

164

:

Like I think that is the exact

moment where I found my joy again,

165

:

and I reconnected with myself.

166

:

Like, or at least it was probably like

the first instance within that trip

167

:

where I could truly see my sparkle.

168

:

Like it was never lost.

169

:

It was always there.

170

:

It just took me a little while to get

back to myself, and- That moment for sure,

171

:

being there in that type of environment

surrounded by the Papaya Army, and

172

:

being within, again, 10 feet from Mr.

173

:

World Champion Lando Norris, and

just being in my cute little Lando

174

:

Norris fit, you know, my Lando Norris

corset all the way back from Spain.

175

:

I brought it back from Miami 2.0.

176

:

You know I did, with my little

championship hat, and my, my

177

:

little friendship bracelets,

and my cheetah nails.

178

:

Like, I was just so me.

179

:

I was just so me, and it was just

so, it was just so fucking amazing.

180

:

I couldn't believe it was real,

and it's just so crazy that that

181

:

activation was also so accessible.,

182

:

It was free.

183

:

I've never seen an activation on

that level in Formula 1 be free.

184

:

Like, that's so insane.

185

:

It was so inclusive, and that's what

I loved the most about it, and I

186

:

think that also adds another element

to me as to why it felt so unreal.

187

:

Like, like, I couldn't

believe it was actually real.

188

:

I couldn't believe I was

able to have that access.

189

:

These are things that I was just able

to go to because they were making it

190

:

accessible and inclusive for everyone, and

I hope more teams follow suit into that.

191

:

I think Williams is a great example of

also having such an accessible and an

192

:

inclusive activations wherever they go.

193

:

Um, 'cause you know I love Williams

down bad, especially their fan zone.

194

:

Like, they just are so great

at that, and they champion

195

:

inclusivity and accessibility.

196

:

And I think McLaren, with this activation

in particular, the amount of access that

197

:

we had and the inclusivity, again, just

made it a standout for me, and it was

198

:

one of the most amazing moments, and

such a great way to kick off Miami 2.0.

199

:

So, that's definitely moment number one.

200

:

Um, I definitely wrote about, I wrote

about this activation much more eloquently

201

:

on the Icon blog and on LinkedIn, so

make sure to check it out, Radiant Icons.

202

:

But my second moment would have

to be, mm, well, this is easy.

203

:

Lando No- Lando getting pole

and him winning the sprint race.

204

:

Like, again, you could see in those

videos the joy just exuding from my body.

205

:

It was just so amazing.

206

:

I was so in my element, and I

love, I love cheering him on.

207

:

Like, I, I love cheering

on my world champ, okay?

208

:

Like, what can I say?

209

:

Like, what can I say?

210

:

It's iconic, okay?

211

:

I do iconic shit, okay?

212

:

And so does Lando Norris.

213

:

That's why he needs to

be on Dare To Be Iconic.

214

:

But anywho, anyway, my third moment

is easy for me because it's dedicated

215

:

to you guys, my lovely radiant icons.

216

:

Our Radiant Icon Club meetup

was Saturday on the track after

217

:

that lovely Lando Norris win.

218

:

Like, talk about iconic timing, you guys.

219

:

But genuinely, any time I have the

opportunity to connect with you guys

220

:

offline and in person and really have

that intimate, deep connection and

221

:

heal out loud and dare to be ourselves

together really makes everything worth

222

:

it for me, and it's still a surreal

feeling when I meet you guys and you

223

:

guys share your Dare to be Iconic stories

and how Dare to be Iconic has impacted

224

:

your life and how it has inspired you

and how maybe my story has resonated

225

:

with you in some way, shape, or form.

226

:

Like, for me, it's still so surreal to

see something that I created because

227

:

I didn't want anyone else to feel

how I felt in life, um, 'cause I,

228

:

I didn't want anyone to feel alone.

229

:

I just, again, I just wanna help people,

and to think that my business that was

230

:

a tiny dream in my heart has helped you

guys on so many levels is just so...

231

:

I always get emotional, but, um It's

a good reminder to me to keep going,

232

:

because I'm not gonna lie, year three

of being a business owner has been

233

:

extremely difficult, especially in the

economic state we are in in America.

234

:

Um, and it's a good reminder to keep

going and to not give up, and to think

235

:

that, you know, something I created out

of the goodness of my heart with just

236

:

a dream and a hope and a lot of fucking

hard work has meant something to you

237

:

and has helped you and has inspired

you, it's so fucking surreal to me.

238

:

And like that, that is so unreal.

239

:

That is so unreal, I

can't believe it's real.

240

:

I can't believe like this is what I get

to do, and it's all because of you guys.

241

:

So any time I get to meet you guys,

it's one of my favorite moments ever.

242

:

Ooh, this is a good question, you guys.

243

:

"Was there a moment during race weekend

where you genuinely felt free again?"

244

:

I have to say, any time I was dancing.

245

:

I know I posted a lot of videos on social

media of me dancing, whether it was in the

246

:

grandstand or the Jack Daniels activation

or in front of the podium on Sunday.

247

:

You know, what can I say?

248

:

A girl just loves to dance.

249

:

Um, but genuinely, I...

250

:

Any time that I am dancing, I am so free.

251

:

I mean, my dad even told me

the other day, he was like...

252

:

We were at my cousin's wedding

in, um, April in New York, and...

253

:

Well, actually Connecticut, but still.

254

:

Um, and I was just on the dance floor

all night, like, you know, us icons do.

255

:

And my dad had told me that he mentioned

to my mom that I just look so free,

256

:

just so free and comfortable, at ease

when I'm on the dance floor dancing.

257

:

Like any time I am dancing, I

just look so secure in my being.

258

:

I look so joyful.

259

:

I look so free.

260

:

And I think that is so true.

261

:

I think that's why I love

heels dancing so much.

262

:

I think that's why I love shaking

my ass so much in the club.

263

:

I like I think that's why I find dancing

as my number one vice when it comes to

264

:

reconnecting back to myself and my body in

particular in, in this moment in my life,

265

:

um, because I am so free when I'm dancing.

266

:

There is something with me and dance that

is just so therapeutic and cathartic,

267

:

and I am just so at ease with myself.

268

:

I am so confident.

269

:

I am so joyful.

270

:

I am so sparkly, and I am so free.

271

:

I am so free when I'm dancing.

272

:

So any moment that I was dancing at the

Mayan Grand Prix, which was probably 99.9%

273

:

of the time, um, because all those

videos did not- Did not show the

274

:

amount of times I was dancing.

275

:

Every time I was fucking dancing,

my ass was being shook, okay?

276

:

Like, that's, that's about it, okay?

277

:

Like, that's the all God honest truth.

278

:

Whenever I am dancing, I am free.

279

:

Oh, you guys, this next question is good.

280

:

"Amanda, did you run

into any track cuties?

281

:

Please spill the tea."

282

:

I would say there was

this one guy, actually.

283

:

There was this one guy, and

his name was Peter, and I met

284

:

him before the podium run.

285

:

Before that lovely, lovely podium run, I

met Peter, and Peter had gorgeous eyes,

286

:

and he was wearing a Ferrari hat, and

he was a Carlos fan, which I was like,

287

:

"Okay, period," like you have taste.

288

:

Okay, good.

289

:

Like we love that.

290

:

And genuinely I was not planning on

doing the podium run, 'cause you guys

291

:

know in- Spain 2024, I said I almost

died when I did it the first time, and

292

:

I swore that I would never do it again,

and that truly was the plan, you guys.

293

:

And I was hanging out with my girl

Natasha, and Natasha really wanted to

294

:

do it, and I said, "Okay, like I'll

walk with you, um, and we can go to

295

:

the area, like in front of the podium

where there's like a gate, and like

296

:

I can stay there while you do it.

297

:

Like you do you, girl, but I will not be

doing it again because I don't wanna die."

298

:

And we were walking over there, and,

uh, you know, I forgot there was a

299

:

fucking race going on apparently because

the way we were going, it was cut

300

:

off, and that was the actual entrance.

301

:

So I would have to walk all the way

around to get to the part that I wanted

302

:

to go to, and I was like, "By this point,

I'm gonna miss the whole rest of the

303

:

race, so I guess I'm just stuck here."

304

:

So I'm freaking the fuck out

because I'm getting flashbacks.

305

:

Again, you know we have you- we know

I have PTSD, so I got flashbacks

306

:

from Spain 2024 of me almost dying,

and I'm freaking the hell out.

307

:

And Natasha was trying to calm me down.

308

:

She's like, "This is gonna be amazing.

309

:

This is gonna be so fun."

310

:

And I'm like, "Girl, I'm just

trying not to die again."

311

:

Like I am literally sweating.

312

:

I'm gonna shit my pants, I'm so nervous.

313

:

And there's this good-looking guy Peter

behind me, and I saw him, but I paid

314

:

no mind to him because again, again,

I'm, I'm freaking the fuck out here.

315

:

And, you know, he's talking to his friend.

316

:

His friend's name is Nick.

317

:

And I'm freaking out to Natasha.

318

:

Natasha's trying to calm me down, and

then the whole crowd goes, "Oh my God."

319

:

And I think that's because Charles had

spun out, but again, I don't have my

320

:

phone up where I'm watching so I don't

know what the hell is happening, right?

321

:

And I'm like, "Oh my

God, like what happened?

322

:

What happened?"

323

:

And the guy, Peter, behind me

goes, "Oh, like, let me look.

324

:

Like, let's see."

325

:

And he's trying to pull up his

phone, and he, like that was his way

326

:

to start talking to me genuinely,

like I gave that guy an in.

327

:

And so He's trying to get the race on

his phone, and it's not working 'cause

328

:

the signal in the Hard Rock sucks.

329

:

And I pay no mind to him 'cause

he can't get the race up.

330

:

So, um, Natasha's pulling it up on

her phone, and she magically gets it.

331

:

And I don't think Peter liked that,

but like whatever, I don't really

332

:

care about a man's ego, you know?

333

:

Um, so whatever.

334

:

That happens.

335

:

We're talking at this point.

336

:

I'm trying to distract my mind,

and then the guy goes, "Oh, by the

337

:

way, is that, is that a Lando hat?"

338

:

Now, if you guys saw my outfits the

entire Grand Prix weekend, you know I'm

339

:

a walking billboard for Lando Norris.

340

:

And especially on race day, I wear

every inch of clothing that has

341

:

Lando's fucking name on it or number.

342

:

I'm wearing the championship hat.

343

:

I have all my friendship bracelets.

344

:

I have my jersey dress on

that literally says Norris.

345

:

I have my necklace on with his name on it.

346

:

Like literally almost everything

on my body screams, "I'm a

347

:

Lando Norris girl, okay?"

348

:

Okay, like LN1, baby.

349

:

And this guy goes, "Is that a Lando hat?"

350

:

Dude, shut the fuck up.

351

:

Like, what a lame-ass way to talk to me.

352

:

But I go, "Yeah."

353

:

Then I turn back to Natasha, and then

he starts, like, talking to me, asking

354

:

me about how I got into F1 or how the

podium runs are and this and that.

355

:

And when I say, "You know, yeah, I did

this in Spain," and then he's like, "Oh,

356

:

like, how many races have you been to?"

357

:

And I, I list, "Oh, Spain, Miami, Vegas.

358

:

This is my second time in Miami."

359

:

He's like, "Oh, you're,

like, an actual fan."

360

:

Yes, Peter, I am an actual fan.

361

:

Hello?

362

:

And he goes, "So how did

you get into the sport?"

363

:

And this, I knew he wasn't being,

like, an actual, like, one of those

364

:

Chads that love to be like, "Well,

how did you get into the sport?

365

:

Like, you're not a real fan.

366

:

Blah, blah, blah."

367

:

You know, like, the way he asked

it actually was genuine, so, like,

368

:

I'm not gonna harp on him for that.

369

:

He was like, "Oh, so like

how did you get into F1?

370

:

Like, did your parents watch it

and you started getting into it?"

371

:

And again, it was genuine, so

I gave a genuine answer back.

372

:

I was very nice.

373

:

I wasn't Man Hater Amanda,

okay, radiant icons?

374

:

And I answered him back and I was like,

"Yeah, you know, like, I got laid off

375

:

from my big girl job and, you know, I, I

needed something to, to put my attention

376

:

to, and I just started watching Drive to

Survive, and I was hooked from there."

377

:

And I started talking about it.

378

:

I asked him about it, and we all started

talking, and then someone makes a comment

379

:

about the race is finally over and what

the podium is, and then he goes, "Oh, you

380

:

know, what, what a good podium, a good

podium result for Oscar and, and Kimi."

381

:

And he purposely doesn't say Lando in

front of me because I'm a Lando fan.

382

:

Like, dude, what...

383

:

Again, a lame way, a lame

way to get my attention.

384

:

Like, if you're gonna flirt with

me, don't shit on Lando Norris.

385

:

And I know you weren't, like, shitting on

him, but, like, still, like, I don't know.

386

:

Like, it was kinda...

387

:

It was just, like, lame.

388

:

Like, it was a lame move.

389

:

Like, you're purposely not

gonna mention Lando because you

390

:

know he's my favorite driver.

391

:

Like, that, that's how you think

you're gonna get my attention?

392

:

I mean, I definitely remembered it.

393

:

Maybe that was his point.

394

:

I don't know.

395

:

I don't understand men, as we all know.

396

:

Clearly from my history here at Dare

To Be Iconic, I don't understand men.

397

:

That's okay with me.

398

:

But anyway, so he says that.

399

:

I'm like, "Uh-huh, yeah."

400

:

And his friend I guess didn't

understand what hi- like, Peter

401

:

was trying to do with that, and he

goes, "Well, isn't she a Lando fan?"

402

:

And his friend looked at him.

403

:

I thought that was funny as shit.

404

:

And then we started talking, and then I...

405

:

What did I d- I don't know if he had

complimented my eyes before I gave him

406

:

my business card or if it was after.

407

:

Oh, I think it was after,

because then he was like, "Oh,

408

:

like, what do you do for work?"

409

:

And so of course I did a little

shameless self plug of DTBI, and I

410

:

take out my business card, 'cause of

course I had my business cards with me.

411

:

And I go, "Here."

412

:

This is like, "Here's my business card.

413

:

Like, I'm sure there's a woman in your

life who probably needs my services."

414

:

He takes my business card and he's

like, "Oh, that's so cool," like, "La,

415

:

la, la," 'cause I had explained what

Dare To Be Iconic is, puts it in his

416

:

wallet, and then he goes, "Oh, by the

way, your eyes are really pretty."

417

:

And I go, "Oh, thank you so much."

418

:

Natasha

419

:

literally, Natasha's face was so

fucking funny when he said that shit.

420

:

Like, I was dying.

421

:

And then, you know, it was time to, to

do our podium run, and he goes, "Well,

422

:

I wish you guys the best of luck."

423

:

And when you look at that video, I swear

to God, he was jogging right next to me.

424

:

Like, he was making sure I didn't

die, which was, like, kinda hot.

425

:

But he didn't ask for my Instagram,

and he never followed me on Dare

426

:

To Be Iconic, because I gave him my

business card that has my Instagram.

427

:

So, like, Peter from Delray, if

you're listening to this podcast,

428

:

what the fuck are you doing, dude?

429

:

Um, yeah, I guess that

was the only track cutie.

430

:

That was interesting.

431

:

Like, that was just funny.

432

:

I don't know, I haven't flirted

with a guy in so long that I, I

433

:

was like, "Is he flirting with me?

434

:

He's definitely flirting with me.

435

:

Oh, wow, this is his move?"

436

:

Like, I was kinda like, a little

like, "Holy shit," like, "Is

437

:

this what we're dealing with?

438

:

Okay."

439

:

Like, "Okay.

440

:

Okay."

441

:

Yeah, so nice little

rollercoaster of emotions.

442

:

I mean, he was very attractive.

443

:

He was good-looking and very nice eyes.

444

:

Um, and he had somewhat an idea of

what Formula 1 was, clearly, um,

445

:

which is, you know, that's attractive.

446

:

That is attractive.

447

:

I like a man that knows F1.

448

:

If you can talk to me

about F1, you get an in.

449

:

Like, you get a point, okay?

450

:

You still have 99 more points

to make, but you get a point.

451

:

Um, and yeah, he just didn't ask

for my Instagram, so he did lose,

452

:

he did lose a lot of points for

that, because what are you doing?

453

:

I'm so hot.

454

:

Like, duh.

455

:

But anyway, yeah.

456

:

Let's get to the next question,

shall we, before I dig myself

457

:

into a deeper hole, radiant icons.

458

:

Oh.

459

:

Oh, this is deep.

460

:

What a, what a drastic change-

we're laughing, and then we're

461

:

gonna cry, because I know this

question is gonna make me emotional.

462

:

What's something Miami healed in you

that you didn't realize still hurt?

463

:

Miami definitely healed- This

fear that I had, which was

464

:

I thought I lost my sparkle.

465

:

And I guess before Miami, I

never really allowed myself to

466

:

come to terms with that fear.

467

:

I kinda just let it circulate in the

very back of my head and, like, push

468

:

it deep, deep down because there were

so many other emotions and feelings

469

:

that I've been really trying to

navigate and work through that that

470

:

fear kinda was put on the back burner.

471

:

And when I went to Miami this year,

it just kept on coming up at the

472

:

forefront of my brain at moments.

473

:

And in particular, I always think

back on Thursday when Emmy and I were

474

:

driving to my aunt's house from the Audi

Activation, and I just remember we were

475

:

chatting in the car, and me being me,

I got emotional, and I started crying,

476

:

and I really came to terms that I'm so

scared that what happened to me last

477

:

summer made me lose my sparkle, and

that it made me lose my joy because I

478

:

feel like I'm not the same Amanda that I

was since what happened to me happened.

479

:

And, you know, I didn't really anticipate

me getting emotional and, like, talking

480

:

about it because it's something that

I have pushed so far back that I just

481

:

was kind of embarrassed to talk about.

482

:

But the truth is, every time you are

violated, a part of you changes forever.

483

:

And I think that is something

that I am slowly but surely coming

484

:

to terms with and accepting that

these bad things did happen to me.

485

:

And the more I accept it and live

in my truth, the less intense

486

:

these images or flashbacks will

come, or these emotions will be.

487

:

And I just have to

accept and own my truth.

488

:

And in that conversation, it really

opened my eyes to how much I kinda

489

:

just pushed that fear to the back

burner and just let it linger.

490

:

And honestly, I started to believe it.

491

:

And in that moment, when I realized

what was happening, I kinda just

492

:

decided that I needed to accept

my full truth and be in it.

493

:

And that's why last week, when I

spoke about there was something

494

:

so freeing about owning every

part of you, the trauma and all.

495

:

There is something so freeing about it.

496

:

And once I started accepting that that

is not my truth, I did not lose my

497

:

sparkle because of what happened to me.

498

:

In fact, I shine even brighter

because that is how I choose

499

:

to show up in the world.

500

:

I am accepting everything that has

happened to me, good and bad, and I

501

:

choose to shine brighter because of it.

502

:

Because of what I have experienced

and what I have been through,

503

:

I am the icon I am today.

504

:

I am the icon that I am in that very

moment crying to Emmy about this

505

:

horrible thing that has happened to me.

506

:

But I am choosing to not let it define me.

507

:

And in that moment, that's kind of

what I let lead and guide me throughout

508

:

the entire rest of the weekend.

509

:

And that's what Miami did for me, is

it healed that part of me that still

510

:

hurts so deep that I didn't realize it.

511

:

What moment made you realize how much

you've grown since your first Miami GP?

512

:

The moment I think of is actually a

conversation that I had with my good

513

:

friend Natasha, and it was our first

full-time hanging out, because we got to

514

:

meet Wednesday at the show run, but that

was very, very quick, very, very short.

515

:

But this day, Friday, we really

had so much time together.

516

:

So it was our first time fully, fully

hanging out, and we were walking up this

517

:

very steep ramp in the Hard Rock Stadium.

518

:

And Natasha had just turned to me and

she said that she was really sorry

519

:

for what I had gone through, and she's

talking about the dating violence

520

:

relationship that I've, you know, been

very public about sharing my journey

521

:

of healing from it and, you know,

all that stuff that comes with it.

522

:

She turned to me and she said that

she was really sorry for everything

523

:

that I have gone through, and she

was specifically referencing my

524

:

dating violence relationship And that

conversation and what we spoke about

525

:

in that conversation really was the

moment for me where I realized how

526

:

much I have grown since last Miami GP.

527

:

Because when I think of last Miami GP,

I had just disclosed to someone that

528

:

I trusted in a relationship about that

particular dating violence relationship.

529

:

And I remember when I told that specific

person about my experience, um, I

530

:

had said that I would never tell my

parents and that I would never tell

531

:

the world and I was in such denial.

532

:

I was in such denial of the

abuse and violation that I've

533

:

experienced in my life last Miami GP.

534

:

Like, that version of Amanda

535

:

was so, quote unquote, "happy",

but she wasn't really processing

536

:

or dealing with the abuse and

violation that she's experienced.

537

:

Like, she was so closed off.

538

:

She was so carried in shame.

539

:

She was so carried in anger and

embarrassment and guilt and all these

540

:

other emotions that I know I've spoken

about on this podcast so many times.

541

:

But, you know, last Miami GP, I

swore that I would never tell a soul.

542

:

I swore that I would never tell anyone

and that it was just gonna be something

543

:

that I deal with but not deal with, quote

unquote, because the thought of talking

544

:

to a therapist and telling my parents

about the worst things that ever happened

545

:

to me and, like, telling the world was,

like, the scariest thing in my life.

546

:

And now, a year later,

547

:

i'm, like, finally free.

548

:

Like, piggyback off of last week's

episode, you know, um, there is

549

:

a certain beauty with owning-

Your truth, trauma and all.

550

:

There, there is so much beauty

in being seen for who you are.

551

:

Like, all your cards are on the table.

552

:

Everything that has

happened to me is out there.

553

:

It's out there with the people I love.

554

:

It's out there publicly,

and that's by my choice.

555

:

I never thought that I would have

the courage and be strong enough to

556

:

make this choice of wanting to be

an advocate and to heal out loud and

557

:

to provide education and awareness.

558

:

I never ever thought that I

would be at this part in my

559

:

healing journey just a year ago.

560

:

Like, that's so insane, you guys.

561

:

And I'm crying because I'm just so proud

of myself because I never ever thought...

562

:

Like, I truly did think I was just

gonna be in denial, and this was

563

:

just gonna be something that I carry

as a secret my whole entire life.

564

:

But there really is something so

freeing about being all in my truth

565

:

and accepting the trauma and all.

566

:

And I know it's really,

really hard to navigate.

567

:

Like, this really has been one of the most

difficult chapters of my life to navigate.

568

:

But you know what?

569

:

Healing has so many layers,

and it has so many levels.

570

:

And, you know, you just have to

cut through one layer to get to the

571

:

next, and I'm doing that each day.

572

:

Each day that I decide and choose

to shine brighter than ever before,

573

:

I'm just cutting through the shit.

574

:

I'm cutting through it, and I'm

getting shinier and sparklier

575

:

and just more fucking iconic.

576

:

And it's just really beautiful

to see that growth within me.

577

:

And so that's the moment that I realized,

damn, I've really grown so much,

578

:

and I'm really happy about that.

579

:

Okay, last question, radiant icons.

580

:

If Miami 2.0

581

:

had a final message for

you, what would it be?

582

:

Oh, Miami 2.0

583

:

had so many messages, but I think if

it was one final message, it would be,

584

:

it would be that you are not broken

and that no one can steal your joy.

585

:

Because you can and will continue to make

more joy in the world and in your life.

586

:

I think that's the

message it would give me.

587

:

Welcome to the Fashionably Single podcast,

where single life meets real talk.

588

:

Hosted by Hannah.

589

:

This guy is sitting next to me, and

this was, like, a no-shoe kinda house,

590

:

so he had to take his shoes off.

591

:

We were playing cards, drinking,

and then all of a sudden, he

592

:

starts rubbing his foot on my leg.

593

:

And her co-host, Jessica.

594

:

So he leaves me at the table.

595

:

He gets his food.

596

:

He goes back to his car.

597

:

I'm thinking he's

dipping out on this date.

598

:

I just told him I don't want to marry

him, and I won't let him kill me, so.

599

:

Two millennials in Austin, Texas,
